Happy 29th Anniversary...

I love you guys, and I pray that you have at least 35 more years to go!

Our babies are growing up...

1. A couple of weeks ago, the Drakes voices changed. =( They sound kind of like Mallards. (small wild duck) Somehow I thought that they would just go on "peeping", even though the Ducks' voices changed a long time ago...(I'm not really sure when).

2. They are starting to flirt.
One evening last week, one of the Ducks was standing by herself...maybe 3-4 feet from the rest, and one of the Drakes walked up to her, and said something to her. He stood next to her, and they put their bills together, and started to quietly talk (at the same time). The other 12 heard them and immediately stopped what they were doing, and the throng noisily joined them.

3. Tonight, was the first "date night". I went out to lock them up for the night, and all was quiet, and I thought they had gone to bed. So I was praising them for being such good babies, when I spotted a duck head "slipping behind the barn" so to speak!
You guessed it: a Duck & a Drake trying to stay out all night....I had to round them up, but at least they went in willingly enough, and the Drake led the Duck in. =)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FYI: What do you call them?
Male- Drake
Female- Duck
Baby- Duckling
Everybody- Flock
Wave #3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I got mentioned in a blog post, over at dallasforronpaul.com =)

".....Then there is Adrienne, the sign wizard!!!
I couldn’t believe it when I pulled up that she had made me a sign supporting DallasForRonPaul.com. And it looks GREAT!!!
I consider myself fortunate to know Adrienne and her mom (also in attendance). They are good old-fashioned Americans that see there is a problem in America, and they have dedicated themselves to trying to fix it. They are patriots at heart and Dallas is fortunate to have their support...." (Read the whole post here.)

Thanks Spencer!

Growing up...is hard work.

For me it's so draining emotionally, physically & mentally,
it's taking away my appetite...
but at the same time making me really want comfort food*.
And hugs. And a party that I did not have to plan.

I can see why I put off growing up-
I was not ready for it and probably just could not have handled it.

I am thankful that God has brought me to the place
where I truly love and appreciate my Mom,
I could not be doing this right now if it weren't for her love & help!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To the younger girls reading this post:
1. Make your Mom your best friend & confidant.
2. Do not fear growing up. We only grow up once! =)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

".....But dreams do not develop without fearlessness
To step outside and face the biting winds
And when you step outside, you'll feel the need to close your eyes
But keep them open wide
You need to see the barriers to tear them down along the way
Don't despair, shatter your glass house
And You can breathe fresh air
Destroy it with the stones you've had for years
Throw your stones"
taken from the song: A Glass House, The Fool's Cage

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*I know that it would just make me worse, so I shall content myself with other things that are on my diet. (The last 2 weeks, I have been trying VERY hard to be a good girl again.)
Rain!!!
I LOVE RAIN!
Look at that rain just gushing out of the downspout!
We got 2" in just a short while...
The ducks were scared almost silly by the storm.
After it stopped raining,
the pigs thought that they had died and gone to heaven- MUD!!!!!
Thank you Lord!
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits,
even the God of our salvation. Psalm 69:19
Happy Birthday, Dad!
(I baked Dad an Apple Pie, and I gave him his very own copy of RED.)
Happy Birthday....
...to the most wonderful Dad...
...ever invented...
...in the whole world...
...and nothing will ever change my mind.* =)
My Dad can do anything-
no matter how small or large. No matter how easy or hard.
~~~~~~~

*Unless of course, I had children...
and then my husband would be the best Dad ever.

Homesick...

Sometimes I'm homesick, and clingy when I have not even been gone,
and I'm not even planning on going anywhere.
Why is that?

(I guess I'm a little big for sitting in Mom's lap,
but then I don't do it every day, not even every year...)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It makes me think of the book, Love You Forever, by Robert Munsch.
Although that was Benjamin's & Mom's special book.
(because it came out in 1986- the year before he was born)
I think that every one should own a copy.
