“Trust is not a passive state of mind. It is a vigorous act of the soul by which we choose to lay hold on the promises of God and cling to them despite the adversity that at times seeks to overwhelms us.”
- - -Jerry Bridges
Proverbs 19:23 "The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil."
1. I think that the reason that the KJV Bible says "tendeth to life" is because a person can have a fear of God that does not lead to repentance. You know, just a plain old childish "ghost story" kind of fear. That is not a healthy fear to have. It's the "as I walk down the street, that building might fall on me kind of fear". 2. And this is what I think about the "he shall not be visited with evil" part:Romans 8:28 says: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." and Prov. 20:24 "Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?" And you know those are not the only verses that say something like that.
We are mere men, how do we know (in the big picture) what is evil? Just because we don't like it, or don't understand it at the time (or even generations later) does not mean that it is evil. Genesis 50:20 says: "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good..." And yes, I am pretty sure that this is not the only verse of its kind either!
So, where is all this leading? TRUST. Trust in the Lord.Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
Psalm 118:29 "Rest & trust in the Lord, his plans & timing are perfect."
Psalm 100:3 "Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture."
Psalm 37:3 "Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed."
Waiting is trusting...
Psalm 27:14 "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."
Remember to have a good attitude!
Psalm 118:24 "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalm 100:2 "Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing." And remember this promise God made us (his sheep):
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
I polished some of my rings the other day, and then just crammed them all on the same finger afterwards...then I realized that they were my extra special rings!
Left to right they were given to me by:
Mom & Dad, Joshua, Benjamin, and my late Aunt Vivi (Sylvia), who was also my godmother!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I decided that it was so special that I needed to take a photo, and post about it. =)
(This is my "Sarah Rosa" face!) I was all decked out in my 2008 shirt, and 2012 button...I'm still thinking about a new shirt....I just can't decide which kind!
I had fun last night! Saw a lot of friends & acquaintances (new & old!), got lots of hellos, hugs & smiles! (We saw people we had not seen in 4 years!) I love the Will Rogers Auditorium in Fort Worth, I love that it is SO old, and I like to think about what it would have been like "way back when", etc...and if anything ever happened to it I would probably cry.
The Auditorium sat 2800, but I know that we had a few more people than that! =)
I like to be involved politically with good folks of whom I have no fear.
I mean that this group of folks are NOT waiting for me to turn my back so they can stab me. We've all got each other covered.
Mom and Raymond-from-Waco~
I was helping this guy on the right (Jake), hold this banner, but instead of getting the guy on the left to take the photo, he held the sign, and I took it! Oh, well! I know that I was there! =)
We made this YouTube while we were holding these big signs:
As I was cleaning my room today, and I found the following note. It's been so long since I wrote it down, I can't remember who I was listening to! =]
"Used to, if you wanted to be a lawyer, you just went to a bookstore and got a copy of Blackstone's book on the rule of Law, studied that, then you took the bar exam, and if you passed you could be a Lawyer! No schooling required! That is what Abraham Lincoln got to do.
Blackstone says that you must apply the law, not make up laws."
The following is the sermon that we listened to this morning, by Pastor Bob Vincent.
"After 300 years in the Promised Land, the tribes had developed unique cultures and rivalries.
The men of Ephraim were arrogant and eager to fight to seize the spoils, especially after others had won the battle (Judges 8:1; 12:1-3). They had also inherited an odd accent from an earlier ancestor who did not hear the difference between the "sh" sound and the "s" sound and passed that peculiarity on to succeeding generations. Therefore, when a person from Ephraim was asked to say the word "shibboleth," he said what he heard, "sibboleth."
As the Israelites were no longer united, they became an easy target for the pagans around them. In those days there was no king in Israel, and so they fought each other or simply stayed at home when the enemy came in like a flood.
Unity in Christ is a great strength, and disunity leads to defeat in the nation, the denomination, the congregation, and the home."
April 7th. This is the last official day of Bramblewood Fashion's "Going Through the Era's" Blog Event. I still need to write this past Sunday's...just give me a minute, I'm going to do it! =)
My mind is a little blank as to what movies came out in the 1970's. So to start off, how about aCanadian Nabisco "Golden Honeys" cereal commercial:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've got one!! "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" (1977)! =)
I will only watch the original Pooh shows, and I am planning to boycott the "new" ones as long as I live! So there! =)
I don't think that I'll ever outgrow the Classic Winnie the Pooh! Watch the Intro here:
Would you like to sing-a-long with Tigger? You can do it here:

I hope that you enjoyed that!
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. ~Psalm 27:14
There are several definitions for the word wait. The first in the line up is: "toremaininactiveorinastateofrepose,asuntilsomethingexpectedhappens"....but I'm not sure that that is the wait in Psalm 27.
I think that David means a more cheerful waiting, (not just sitting around grumpily drumming your fingers) like these:
5. "to look forwardtoeagerly. (I'mjustwaitingforthedayI get to go to the Zoo!)
7. "Archaic. (ofthings)tobeinreadinessfor;bereservedfor;await." (Or I guess, The Zoo day is here, and I've got the lunch packed, and I'm just waiting for the actual departure time.)
10. anactorinstanceofwaitingorawaiting;delay;halt:awaitattheborder. (We're all piled into the hot car, and you had a flat, or someone had to make a pit-stop...but the wait is not too bad because you know that sooner or later you will be on the road headed to the Zoo again!)
11. aperiodorintervalofwaiting:Therewillbealongwaitbetweentrains.(Expectancy- the Zoo is on the other side of this hour+ long road trip!!!!)
12.Theater- as in thetimebetweentwoacts,scenes,orthe like. (You have seen the Elephants and the line to the Monkeys is soooo long! But you know that the Monkeys are worth the wait.)
I put it to you these latter ways of waiting are examples of how we should wait.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you think about it~ we do or will do a lot of waiting in our lives. We wait to see what God's plan is for our lives. (I can't wait to see the big picture of what He has planned for me!)
Waiting to be "big enough" to do something. Wait to turn 10 years old, learning to play an instrument, to learn to drive, to vote, to turn 21. Waiting for reconciliation in the family. To mature, for Friends, for Dinner. For trips to the Zoo. Waiting for the opportunity to go on a mission trip, for job opportunities (jobs or promotions or even just doing what you want to earn a living). For Prince Charming, for THE proposal, for the Wedding. Waiting for your spouse to land a job, for children (your own or adoption)....and it all starts again. For your Children to mature. Waiting for your Children to marry and to have their own children...
I'm not saying that I have this waiting thing down~ far from it! But I am saying that I think that Wait & Trust is essentially the same thing....or at least they go hand in hand.
So next time you are in a hard spot- ask yourself and God, "Am I waiting with a cheerful heart? Am I waiting with expectancy? Am I trusting God with my life? Do I really believe that He has the perfect plans for me and will bring them about in His perfect time? Am I acting like I trust Him?". Feel free to challenge me on this~ I need all the help I can get! =)
There are plenty of things to do as you wait for your trip to the Zoo- you can plan your outfit, you can look at maps and plan a schedule for the day, and you can plan your lunch menu, too!
And of course there are things you can do while you are waiting for God's plans to unfold (or "to see the Monkeys")~ put your old man to death, build your character, and really, it can't hurt to "plan your outfits". Remember all kinds of people are watching you~ all the time.
Have you heard the Judy Rogers song "Trust in The Lord"? Here it is:
Trust in Him~ Wait on Him. His plans are worth the wait. =) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (Waiting for the Monkeys- I'll have to remember that line!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FYI: This post is like my 281st post, so that makes my 300th post just around the corner! In honor of my 300th post I'll be hosting some giveaways, and I (so far) don't mind shipping overseas, assuming that the shipping won't break the bank! =) Stay tuned!!!!

The following 2 hairdo pictures and ad came from www.squidoo.com
This little lady looks so charming~
She's cute! =) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the 1976-1981 TV show, Charlie's Angels, the "Angels" are (women) Detectives...so they have lots of great hair & clothes, etc... I would not recommend this show for children, but I think that it's fun to watch once in a while! =)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do you ever wonder what you would look like with a really different hair do? ...thinking of me with an afro makes me just crack up! =) It's not that I particularly like the Jackson 5, I liked their hair, here are a couple of songs: "I'll Be There" and "Frosty The Snowman".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I think that we would all agree that this is a good cause to wear a watch:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I love lip-gloss~ how about you? Max Factor:
My hungry men prefer homemade, but I guess that canned soup is much better than fast food!
Don't forget to eat your Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I remember getting to eat "tinned" Ravioli once in a BLUE moon~ we thought it was fun! (but not as much fun as"Uh-oh, Spaghetti-O's"!)
Charlotte's Web (1973): A Veritable Smorgasbord is is my favorite song from this movie. (Mom saw it it the theater when it first came out!)

1971: Daisy BB Gun's 100th anniversary handgun~ Dad got one of these babies for Christmas, and the first thing that he went out and shot was the neighbor's Christmas lights. (bad boy!) Later on in life, he gave it to me! (I was a better shot than my brothers.)
"House at Pooh Corner" is the title of a song that was written by Kenny Loggins, based on the popular children's book of the same name. The song was first performed by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1970:

Random afterthought:
I think that I forgot to share this one last week, ~Millie Small singing her cover of "My Boy Lollipop" in 1964:
Who all has this book, "Indian Crafts and Lore"? It came out in 1972. We did, we would pour over it for hours~ again it was a "hand-me-down" from my Great-grandmother.
When we first moved to East Texas, we got to go to our very first "Pilgrim Day". It was put together by the homeschool group, and usually at the same family's house. We helped Dad & Mom make our costumes the night before, and this was what we copied for mine, right down to the blue flowers painted on the back, and the fringe and tassels!
(Don't you hate it when Google decides that your photo(s) HAVE to be posted wrong!) We loved plotting out face painting procedures and designs....although we never did any of them.

Someone gave us one of these craft panels, I got the Chicks and Benjamin got the Hen. I put a bell in each chick, and gave them to 3 deserving babies in church at the time!

I never watched "Pete's Dragon", but I love this song:
