Fear & Trust

Proverbs 19:23
"The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil."

1. I think that the reason that the KJV Bible says "tendeth to life" is because a person can have a fear of God that does not lead to repentance.
You know, just a plain old childish "ghost story" kind of fear. That is not a healthy fear to have. It's the "as I walk down the street, that building might fall on me kind of fear".

2. And this is what I think about the
"he shall not be visited with evil" part:Romans 8:28 says: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." and Prov. 20:24 "Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?" And you know those are not the only verses that say something like that.

We are mere men, how do we know (in the big picture) what is evil? Just because we don't like it, or don't understand it at the time (or even generations later) does not mean that it is evil. Genesis 50:20 says: "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good..." And yes, I am pretty sure that this is not the only verse of its kind either!

So, where is all this leading? TRUST. Trust in the Lord.Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
Psalm 118:29 "Rest & trust in the Lord, his plans & timing are perfect."
Psalm 100:3 "Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture."
Psalm 37:3 "Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed."

Waiting is trusting...
Psalm 27:14 "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."

Remember to have a good attitude!
Psalm 118:24 "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalm 100:2 "Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing."
And remember this promise God made us (his sheep):
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
