“Trust is not a passive state of mind. It is a vigorous act of the soul by which we choose to lay hold on the promises of God and cling to them despite the adversity that at times seeks to overwhelms us.”

Matinee Saturday~ 1940's
"Since You Went Away", 1944~ I love this movie! I don't care too much for the overly patriotic movies of the era, but I love this one! I guess that I really like the directing...and the clothes....and Claudette Colbert...and Hattie McDaniel...and all the home life that normally gets forgotten.
It is an all around favorite- it makes me laugh, and cry, and feel so happy that I could burst!
....funny, sweet, romantic, and grave at the same time. (buy here)
I borrowed this movie the first few times from Mrs. Bee, and now I get it from the Tylers, across the street. (I also had the pleasure of introducing the 3 big H girls to it~ Sally & I sat curled up on the couch crying our eyes out...)
