Crochet Fun~ round 7

Little shoes (and bird) for New Baby in the family =)

I realized that these are the only pictures I have of the project.  Terrible!  I did not even lace the shoes or take another photo before I sent the gifts away to their new home. =(   Sigh!
Oh well, you can make your own cute "Crochet Converse Baby Booties" following Stephanie's YouTube(HERE)!

NOTE: watch the part about lacing up the shoe BEFORE you stitch all the top/finishing the edge part....she is not clear if you do not, and then you have to buy laces instead of making them.  Hmmm.

Washing an IKEA pet

I'm sorry to say that I went almost 10 1/2 years before giving Emmet a bath. (I may not make a very good parent...)  I cut off his tags after Mom gave him to me, and spent years not knowing if he could be washed or not.
Then in the last 6 months I found out that he could be washed cold, and air dried, but I was afraid that he would not look good after- I mean by now he is nappy (not unlike my 20 year old cat Fergie, on the porch), and would he come out the same or worse?!?!?  (I could not hope for better)

I took the plunge, and am happy to report that other than a little separation anxiety (on his part) we were reunited after a separation of just longer than 12 hours, Emmet feels and smells better, while LOOKING about the same.  (that last point being the most important)

Best FB posts of 2018

Children are so funny when they aren't yours!  (That goes for parents too!)  I hope you enjoy these funnies! (I changed the names of the innocent)

"Pressure washed the garage. Come in to find Edward drew on every surface of the house with a dry erase marker. Couch and projector screen included. Every appliance. The walls the cabinets."

"I told Taylor that we needed to give him a haircut today (he hates them and we've been putting it off), then went to get John a snack from the kitchen. I could not find him for 20 minutes!! Literally went in and out of every room three times. Finally decided to let him come out when he was ready and started another job...and lost John too. Finally found John, who had found Taylor, and was supplying him with rations of pretzels and goldfish."

Zipper bags for little Friends

The Nutcracker fabric is a Maude Asbury by Blend called "Snowflake Waltz".  Sorry, I don't remember who made the Viking fabric.
I did not use patterns, I had 1/2 yard of each fun fabric, so I just figured out how to get the most bang for my fabric!
Hobby Lobby has great patches 'Rock Star', 'Dances in Public' & 'Karaoke Superstar' were all in one set (in the craft department, not the sewing section)
Oh, and I bought the lovely brown handbag zippers in bulk from 'Midedo3' on ebay.

A Nutcracker bag for a Nutcracker lover!

It has a hidden zipper pocket at the inside bottom!

Zipper bags for both brothers:

Insides: Vikings & Nutcrackers!

(I'm happy to report that the Lads loved them!)

Whatever Wednesday: Sewing for children 4

I'd bought the blue and the yellow when this fabric was at Walmart YEARS ago (yellow here and blue here) I was given this purple fabric...very cute, but I thought that I'd sew it up for 3 little girls I know.  Now they aren't my best buds, but they are "Best Buds", and 2 of them are sisters...SO I just knew that they NEEDED matching skorts!

Whatever Wednesday: Sewing for children 3

Another sewing project I just finished is matching shorts for the older 3 little ME children & I.
(I think that I have enough to make pair for little Ben...but another day...or month...)
I enjoy sewing for children (like doll clothes, but more fun) and I LOVE it when they love it.  And matching your niece and nephews is ALWAYS fun!

3 kinds of pockets for 3 kinds of people.

We had a fun afternoon  =)

Whatever Wednesday: Sewing for children 2

Today's post is an update on THIS post.  (Truth is, I forgot I'd already posted about this dress, and stumbled upon it just before hitting publish!)   I sewed these dresses November of 2014.

Her Mom says: "...She has worn it as a dress, then tunic and now a top. This will probably be the last year. 😢 The fabric is excellent. Hardly any fading and it washes/drys really well with no wrinkles."

I also made this Teddy Bear one at the same time for one of Pebbles'  little girls:

I love that they have been so long wearing- I hoped that they would be fun and versatile, and they are!

a Tunic for Spring/Summer

1) Fabric was purchased at: https://allegrofabrics.com/
2) The Labels came from: https://www.itsminelabels.com/
(I think that maybe I dress like a teacher...could I have a teacher trapped inside me?)

Fergie & I on a warm late Winter's day.

Dad gave me the tags for my Birthday--I'm not planning to sew them in all my clothes (saving  them for gifts & things I sell), but I just had to try them out!  =)

Mom gave me the fabric for Valentine's Day. =)  Heart balloons sprinkled over something written in ?French? ~ !!!

(One day, I pined the ties in place- right to my top...it was nice- no slipping around!  I feel like Mary Engelbreit would approve of the Scottie.)
 Yes, I love this top!
((edit: this was the PERFECT thing to wear to a festival, when I sat, I did not sit on my top, and when I stood up I was covered, so if I accidentally sat in or on something, no one knew....but now I'll bet you will always be wondering if I sat on something. It was also cool and looked good all day.))

=)

Don't I have some cute nephews & niece?  =)

First party this year~

~was with the 'Hale Girls'!   Rachel hosted, and I brought Carrot Cupcakes!

The Hale Girls and I--well, not all of us: we are missing Hannah!  =(
Thanks Mom, for taking the photos!

This time I made my Carrot Cupcakes (recipe HERE), I used organic oat flour & organic white wheat flour, the white "frosting" is plain Cream Cheese- those cupcakes have raisins & nuts.  The pink ones is all the rest of the cream cheese package mixed with 1/4c. Sugar + vanilla & food coloring.

Food on Friday: Vegetable Soup

"Tyce's favorite game today is making us vegetable soup for lunch, over and over  ;)  do you recognize the apron? He loves it! It made the entire thing fun!"  ~Allison

Way to go Tyce~ you'll be a big help to Mom & Dad, and make some very lucky girl a happy wife someday!  I'm thankful that you have such a good example of a real man who is a good husband & father.  =)

I love to know (or find out) that what I sew (or make) is loved & appreciated.  Isn't my little cousin SO cute?!
