A new Strawberry (cotton) house-dress:
~My go-to pattern, the retired Simplicity #8071 came to my rescue again!
~I know it's out of date, but this is one cool dress- I guess because it's roomy. =)
~I tried for the first time ever just stitching the facings to the dress so they wouldn't flap, and they don't, but I'm not crazy about how they turned out.
~The fabric came from Wal-mart in Commerce: remember when they thought that it would be a "brilliant" decision to get rid of the fabric counter, and go to pre-cut & pre-packaged fabric???
That was a flop!
For those of you who don't know, or don't remember the result was that no one wanted to buy their fabric that way, and refused to do so. So, the result of that was: a GIANT clearance event, and people buying in a frenzy! (We and the Hales were some of those people.)
~This is my second Strawberry Dress, Mom made my first one for my birthday in 1993!
*SONP not is officially happening this year, but I like to sew, and wear
cute dresses & skirts anyway, so I'll just do my own thing....(Summer of No Pants is a Google+ group, and anyone can join & post at anytime.)

What a pretty dress, Adrienne! :) You said something about "old-fashioned" -- who cares, if it's beautiful, classy, and feminine?
Much love,
Elisha
